Gucci

                                                      Gucci Tokyo   Photographer Masaaki Komori

There were so many people who said, 'Maybe it's too pretty for Gucci.' But to me, it was such an important design. So light in a way, but with a good energy.
~Frida Giannini: About Gucci and her adding flowers.

Hippie Style

The house of Gucci opened in 1906 as a saddle company.  Wow baby, you have come a long way.  Just like us Boomers--Gucci keeps getting better and better...

Remember when the bubble dress came out how it took a bit to get accustomed to the look.  Or, when the tight legs came out and hitting the gym became imperative to look anywhere near hot--both of these awkward fashion, which thankfully didn't last long.

Well, this season Gucci is fun and sexy--with clothing that flatters women.  Slacks that not only cover the derriere but are cut to compliment.  We will also feel very comfortable in the 'newest' fashion flair of Gucci, not like past years.

Review of Gucci Resort Wear 2009:

Sarah Mower of Style.com said, "The clothes; the bouncing, center-parted hair; and the seventies vibe were all indivisible from Giannini's own style: a contemporary cherry-picking of casual-glam, jet-set dressing as caught in the flashbulbs of the paparazzi 30 years ago. She quoted Talitha Getty, Lee Radziwill, and Jane Birkin as direct inspiration: Getty for the long, flowy gypsy dresses; Radziwill for the neat banded coats; and Birkin for the teeny-tiny thigh-high smocks trimmed with broderie anglaise."

Gucci Resort Wear 2009:

It is cool, comfortable and feminine--very fitting for Boomer Hot Women.

 The Dresses:

The dresses are full, empire wasted with lots of flowing fabric that moves with your body when you walk--as if you are floating.  In fabrics that are light, soft and supple.  Elegance, comfort and your favorite designer.  Fashion doesn't get any better than this.  This look was popular in the mid 70s, which is why this look is Gucci Hippie Style.

The Slacks

The pants slightly above the top of your hips, yet not all the way to the waist.  They are fitted around the midriff and the back in order to show-off that great derriere of yours. The legs flair at the bottom.  Fitted at the top and wide at the bottom.  The tops of the pants either zip or button up, also reminiscent of the 70s style.

The Perfect Shoes

While not Gucci shoes, these are the shoes Gianni reccomends in the Cat-Walk Video below.  Giannini says these pieces are to be worn with big, chunky platform heels for the long, leggy look.  It is your luck day--we did the shopping and found the perfect shoes to  complement  the sophisticated style. And, they are on sale now for only $30 a pair.  Yes, you read that correctly.  It was hard for us to believe, too.

The Ooh-La-La shoe is a shimmery gold, so it will coordinate with all of your favorite new looks and that fabulous Chanel Red polish, Midnight Red.  But, act fast there are only nine pairs of these shoes left.  They are really comfortable, too, because the soul is lightly padded.  They run a bit small--but the shoes are to fit the foot fairly closely.  So, if you wear a 7 or 7.5 you may consider ordering the 8.
